What it’s for

A warehouse is a place where merchandise is stored: the back room, the storage unit, the branch. It’s for knowing where each thing is, not just how much there is.

How they’re used

Each store is linked to a warehouse. When you sell, inventory is deducted from there. When you buy, you choose which one the merchandise goes into.

Things worth knowing

This screen only shows up if the business separates warehouse from store. If you don’t see it, you’re in simple mode: inventory goes straight to where it’s sold and there’s nothing to split. That’s correct for a business with a single location.

A warehouse isn’t deleted, it’s deactivated. There’s no option to remove it completely; if you’re not using it anymore, deactivate it from this screen.

Before turning off warehouse management, move the inventory out of any warehouse that isn’t the main store. Otherwise that stock stays in a place no one can see.
