Cash count, multi-currency payments, and gift cards

Version from Monday, August 10, 2026

Three improvements aimed at the same thing: making the day’s close balance without reaching for a calculator.

Closing the register now counts the drawer

Before, closing asked for a total and you had to add up the bills yourself. Now you can do a count by denomination: you say how many bills of each value you have and the system adds them up on its own, compares it against what should be there, and tells you right away whether it balances, is over, or is short.

The closing panel compares what's expected against what's counted, by currency.

You can also split, in the same step, how much goes to the bank and how much stays as the float for the next shift, without recording two separate movements.

The cash count receipt prints as soon as you close, either on thermal paper or letter size.

Cash in dollars is counted in dollars

If your business collects payment in more than one currency, the cash count no longer converts anything. Each bill is counted in the currency it came in: dollars are counted as dollars and colones as colones, each currency with its own expected amount, its own count, and its own difference.

This gets rid of the old problem of a close “not balancing” just because the day’s exchange rate had shifted the conversion.

Gift cards

You can now sell gift cards and accept them as a payment method on every sales screen. They charge against the card’s balance, and if the balance isn’t enough, the rest is charged with another payment method on the same invoice.

A warning when the register has been open too long

If a shift has been open for more than 24 hours, the screen flags it in red. It almost always means someone forgot to close, and catching it the same day keeps the mess from carrying over into the next day’s cash count.
